Telecommunications Division
 
     The Telecommunications Division oversees the regulation of telecommunications service in Alabama, including incumbent local exchange carriers, the traditional providers of local phone service, and their competitors, competitive local exchange carriers. Long distance providers, both interexchange carriers and toll resale companies, and providers of pay phone service, hotel/motel telephone service, and shared tenant phone service also fall under the APSC's jurisdiction. The APSC does not regulate cellular telephone service.
    This division is composed of the Economic Analysis and Compliance, Service Analysis and Compliance, and Special Services Compliance sections.
